Day Ten - Final Farewells

Our last day in Slovakia had us returning to the villages for photographs of erbs (village coat of arms) visits to mayors, old cemeteries and vistas. Below the front and back of the church in Chmelova.

Afterwards we had a lovely lunch at the Sabaraca Salas formerly known as Lesny Salas. Slavo met us there after his meetings in Poland and we ventured to the village of Jedlinka to see the wooden church there. Slavo found the woman in the village who holds the key to the church and she kindly let us in and told us a little of the history of the church. It originally was from Poland and was moved to this village. It is actually two small churches put together as one. Although photographs are not allowed she did let us take a few.

After our late lunch we said our goodbyes to Slavo at the city hall.

We headed back to the pension and packed our belongings...not an easy task when you are bringing back gift and souvenirs!!!

We just finished our final get-together in the kitchen at the pension and are now finalizing our packing. We will be up early to visit the castle ruins of the Hrad Zborov. The owner of the pension is restoring the castle and loves to show it off to his guests.

We plan to leave here around 2:00 pm for the beautiful drive back to Krakow where we will turn in our rental cars and have on final farewell dinner before we leave on our early morning flight to Amsterdam. Once in Amsterdam we all split up to go back home to our families.

One more post tomorrow night...
